More vs. Better
Sometimes the answer is to do more.
To step up. Take responsibility. Push a little harder when things get uncomfortable.
I’ve written about that before—because it matters.
Sometimes we hide behind “boundaries” when what we really need is obedience, grit, or follow-through.
But sometimes… the answer is to do better.
And doing better often means doing less.
Less distractions.
Less saying yes to things that don’t align.
Less noise—so there’s room to hear what actually matters.
Because more doesn’t always mean progress.
And busy doesn’t always mean obedient.
There are seasons to push.
But there are also seasons to prune.
And pruning isn’t punishment—it’s preparation.
“Every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit.” —John 15:2 (ESV)
God doesn’t just call us to produce—He calls us to abide.
Sometimes that means doing less—but doing it with more focus, more faith, and more clarity.
So if you’re in a season of striving, ask yourself:
Do I need to push forward? Or do I need to cut back so something deeper can grow?
Either way—the goal isn’t more for the sake of more.
It’s faithfulness. It’s fruit.
